On 21 March 2025, Kraków residents will have the opportunity to board a special tram filled with spring-themed attractions and educational activities as part of the Kraków Spring Tram Campaign.Organised by the "Tęcza" Association and MPK Kraków, the event will also give participants the chance to receive a unique pair of colourful socks created through a collaboration between the Association and the KZN Bieżanów Group.
The tram will depart at 1:00 p.m. from the TAURON Arena Kraków Wieczysta stop. Along the route, it will stop at Salwator, Dworzec Towarowy, Cichy Kącik, Dworzec Towarowy, Salwator, before reaching its final destination in Łagiewniki. During the journey, passengers will meet volunteers from the "Tęcza" Association of Parents and Friends of People with Down Syndrome, based in Kraków. 21 March marks not only the first day of spring but also World Down Syndrome Day, widely recognised as Lots of Socks Day. To celebrate the occasion, the Association's volunteers and beneficiaries will conduct an educational and awareness campaign on board the tram.
"The greatest challenge people with Down syndrome continue to face is the lack of public awareness and the barriers created by stereotypes. People with Trisomy 21 are still often perceived as helpless, permanently ill children, even when they are fully independent adults. In reality, Down syndrome is not a disease but a genetic condition that affects physical appearance and may lead to various developmental challenges. Despite these difficulties, people with Down syndrome have enormous potential. Each of them has their own talents, dreams and aspirations."

Throughout the event, volunteers will also distribute colourful mismatched socks—the internationally recognised symbol of World Down Syndrome Day. These socks are particularly special, as they were created through a joint initiative of the "Tęcza" Association and the KZN Bieżanów Group. They were first introduced during our Christmas charity campaign, encouraging our business partners to learn more about Down syndrome while supporting the Association. As part of this cooperation, the Association also organised a colourful Christmas charity fair for our employees, which received a very warm response. We hope these colourful socks will continue to raise awareness and encourage greater understanding and acceptance of people with Down syndrome.
One sock from each mismatched pair was designed by Mr Adam, a beneficiary of the Association, while the other was created by the KZN Bieżanów Group.The socks are now available in the Tęcza Shop and can also be obtained during the Kraków Spring Tram Campaign. We warmly invite everyone to join us.
